JRA1 (Joint Research Activity 1) is concerned with the infrastructure development in support of planetary missions and will strengthen European expertise in the areas of the planetary dynamics, geodesy and cartography, which is essential for planetary mission planning, operation and science data analysis. JRA-1 will provide planning products to planetary scientists, such as planetary and spacecraft ephemeris data, planetary shape and gravity models, planetary constants, and various planetary maps, with unified data formats, documentation, and interactive access. JRA-1 is also concerned with novel spacecraft tracking experiments and will also support selected activities of amateur astronomers.
